The Ones We Lost is an artist book born from a research project on curated archive family photos
featuring friends and family members who have been lost along life's
journey — whether through death, migration, or the natural progression of
life into adulthood. My approach delves into the intriguing concept of
the presence of the absent, exploring the impact of our beloved ones and
the traces they leave behind in these archive images — one of the few tangible
proofs of their existence. Infused with a blend of nostalgia and
melancholy, the core of this research emanates from a sense of inquiry
and need to comprehend the intricacies of the past.
